실전모의고사-WritingTask1-Test3(2) 의 34:14 부분에서 3배로 표현할 수도 있다고 하셨는데 그럼 "across the year, finishing~"부분을 "finishing with more than threefold students" 로 쓸 수도 있다는 말씀인 건지 알 수 있을까요?

이 부분이군요.
"MSE started the year with only 135 students, the lowest of all in the data. However, student numbers increased steadily across the year, finishing with 472 learners, making it the second highest among other schools."
여기서 "finishing with more than threefold students" 이렇게는 사용안합니다. 매우 어색하구요.
=> finishing with more than threefold increase in the number. 이렇게 사용할 수 있습니다.
=> 결국엔 그 숫자가 3배 이상 증가하며
threefold 는 3배 라는 뜻인데요. 그 3배가 students 앞에 오면, 3배의 학생, 문자 그대로 해석해도, 말이 약간 안되죠. 몇 명의 학생수 인지가 포커스가 되어야 합니다.
따라서, The number increased threefold. (그 수는 3배 증가하였다) / 또는, It finished with more than threefold increase. (그것은 3배 이상의 증가로 마감하였다).
이렇게 이해하시면 될 것 같습니다.
