Latter view

1. The internet allows users to retrieve information instantaneously from any location, making the physical commute to a library seem inefficient and outdated.

2. Online databases and digital archives provide a much wider range of global information than any local library can physically store within its walls.

3. Maintaining physical buildings and staff requires significant public funding, which could be more effectively allocated to other urgent sectors like healthcare or infrastructure.
