<part 1>
Have you ever been to historical museums?
Yes, I have. I’ve visited several historical museums both in Korea and abroad. I usually go there when I travel because museums help me understand the background of the place. I think they’re a good way to learn about culture in a more interactive way.
Do you like history?
I’m not a huge history fan, but I do enjoy learning about important events and how they shaped modern society. I especially like history when it’s explained through stories or objects, because it feels easier to understand. So overall, I would say I like it to some extent.
<part 2>
Describe a competition (e.g. music, cooking, or sports competition) you took part in
You should say:
What the competition was - a speech competition I participated in
When and where it was held - during my university years
What you did in the competition - prepared a five-minute speech about global citizenship
And explain what you learned from the competition - learned the importance of preparation and mental control
<part 3>
What are the advantages of competition?
Competitions can motivate people to work harder and improve their skills. They also teach valuable lessons like resilience, time management, and how to handle pressure. In addition, competitions provide opportunities to meet others with similar interests, which can be inspiring and motivating.
Do you think parents should encourage their children to take part in competitions?
Yes, but in a balanced way. Competitions can help children discover their strengths and gain confidence. They also learn how to cooperate, deal with failure, and set goals. However, parents shouldn’t pressure children too much; otherwise, it can create stress. Encouragement is good as long as it’s healthy and supportive.
