Some people think that charity organizations should only offer help to people of their own country. However, others believe that these organizations should give aid to people in great need wherever they live.

Discuss both views and give your opinion.

어떤 사람들은 자선 단체가 자국민에게만 도움을 제공해야 한다고 생각합니다. 하지만 다른 사람들은 이러한 단체가 어디에 있든 도움이 절실히 필요한 사람들에게 도움을 주어야 한다고 생각합니다.

두 가지 견해를 모두 논의하고 의견을 제시하세요.

former view

1. Most charities operate on restricted budgets, so prioritising local citizens ensures that funds are used where they are most urgently needed.

2. National problems like poverty or homelessness may be overlooked if charities focus abroad instead of supporting vulnerable groups at home.

3. Operating within their own country makes it easier to monitor projects, reduce corruption, and ensure donations reach the intended recipients.

Latter view

1. Human suffering is universal; people in desperate need (e.g., famine or war zones) should be helped regardless of nationality.

2. Modern problems like disease, migration, and climate change affect all nations, so supporting other countries can also protect domestic well-being.

3. Providing international aid demonstrates compassion, improves a nation’s global image, and fosters stronger international relationships.
