Governments give lots of support to artists, even though some people think it is a waste of money that could have been spent better elsewhere.

Discuss both views and give your opinion.

former view

1. Funding protects traditional art forms, music, and literature that might otherwise disappear because they are not profitable.

2. Art encourages creativity, critical thinking, and emotional well-being, enriching education and society.

3. Cultural activities (festivals, museums, theatres) attract tourists, generate jobs, and boost local economies.

Latter view

1. Public money should be spent on essential services like healthcare, education, or infrastructure that directly improve citizens’ lives.

2. With modern platforms (e.g., crowdfunding, social media, private sponsorship), artists can finance their own work without relying on government aid.

3. Funding is often given to a small group of elite artists or institutions, leaving many others unsupported and creating unfairness.
